A woman in Zurich is on trial for alleged animal cruelty after she refused the advice from her vet that her cat needed an operation to save its life.
The animal was suffering from a blocked urinary tract - and its bladder was dangerously full.
The vet relieved the problem initially, but said the animal needed an operation. The woman refused and the cat died the next day.
The woman claims it wasn't explained to her that it was a matter of life or death.
The operation would have cost CHF 1,000. The trial continues.
