Violent video shocks country

SRF

A video showing a violent attack on a woman in canton Schaffhausen is shocking the country and triggering a political reaction in the canton and nationally.

The video, which was shown on German language TV, shows a 43-year-old woman who says she was raped in December 2021 and then lured to a lawyer’s apartment in an effort to persuade her to drop the complaint – where she was attacked.

The video was captured by security cameras.

Schaffhausen authorities are under fire for not doing enough to help the woman. Over the weekend 500 gathered in the canton to protest her treatment.
