Versoix Greens slam WTO diversions

WTO

The Green Party on the Versoix City Council is sending a letter to the canton following the traffic restrictions put in place around the World Trade Organization.

The Greens say cyclists were put under increased pressure as the diversion took them over the hill through Pregny – which is a climb of 70 meters – instead of along the flat lake road.

The environmental party says road closure punishes cyclists more and is a demotivating factor for people to use bikes and not their cars.

They’re demanding next time the needs of bike riders are taken into consideration.
