US and Russian delegates will hold talks in Geneva today under the Strategic Stability Dialogue which Biden and Putin committed to when they met at the Villa la Grange in Geneva last month.

The US State Department said in a statement last week that the two sides had agreed to a “deliberate and robust dialogue that will seek to lay the groundwork for future arms control and risk reduction measures” when US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin met exactly 6 weeks ago.

From the US, the dialogue will be led by Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman. Bonnie Jenkins, who was recently confirmed as US Under Secretary of State for Arms Control, will also be present.

According to the Russian ministry, the Russian delegation will be led by Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov. The ministry said that the sides will discuss "issues of maintaining and strengthening strategic stability, as well as prospects for arms control."

International Security will also be at the talks.
