Unsurprising - October hottest month

It probably isn’t a surprise, but this month is the hottest October since records began in 1864.

The Alps are still snow free in many places and high altitude passes remain open. Normally, many would have been closed by now.

This weekend was around 3 degrees warmer on average over the past 30 years.

The forecaster Meteonews says the 25-degree mark was broken at three different reporting stations on Saturday.

But the outlook for November is far more normal.
