The UBS bank is shedding further jobs. It’s expected hundreds of workers will be laid off.
The bank is losing staff as it continues its merger with Credit Suisse. It took over the failed bank in 2023.
UBS has said previously that it expects around 3,000 will be sacked. When it took over Credit Suisse, the combined banks employed 35,000 in Switzerland.
As the merger continues, UBS is eliminating all signs of its former rival. Credit Suisse logos are being removed from buildings and many branches have been closed.
It’s thought this latest wave of cuts won’t be the last.
