Two Swiss nationals who were arrested in Germany for allegedly trying to buy explosives to launch an attack on a large Swiss city will be extradited and sent back to this country.
The 24- and 26-year-olds were apprehended near Stuttgart in June. They’ve been in custody ever since.
Investigators believe the two men wanted to plant bombs in Switzerland – but it’s not thought they had a political agenda. Police became aware of their activities while following chat rooms on the darknet.
German and Swiss prosecutors have confirmed the men will be returned to face trial in Switzerland.
