Geneva will get taller.
The go ahead has been given for two new towers, 175 meters tall.
They will be built in the La Praille-Acacias-Vernets district.
The towers, remarkable for their height in Geneva, will include shops, services, cultural spaces, and housing. Panoramic terraces and large public lobbies are also planned.
Switzerland’s tallest tower remains Roche 2 in Basel, at 205 meters.
For reference, the Empire State Building is 443 meters to the tip – and the Shard in London is 310 meters.
