Two more have died following an avalanche.
In Sachseln in canton Obwalden the men, aged 51 and 31, were on a cross-country ski route when hit by the snow.
The skiers were on an approved route – and the alert status for the area at the time was moderate.
When they didn’t return on Saturday afternoon, the alarm was raised.
Helicopter searchers found the two men and airlifted them to hospital. They both died of their injuries shortly after.
Police have launched an investigation.
