Trees are essential in cities during heat waves.
That’s the conclusion of a study by EPFL in Lausanne.
During high temperatures, even above 39 degrees, trees can help in cooling surrounding areas.
The results show the importance of trees in cities as it’s expected we will experience more days with highs over 30.
The researchers studied the trees in the Geneva commune of Lancy.
