Top baby names revealed

The most popular names in Switzerland show ‘Noah’ is the most popular boys name across the country and for girls,

‘Emma’ is top in the German speaking areas and ‘Alice’ in the French areas.

The list is published every year by the Federal Statistics Office – and collates the names given to babies in 2020.

‘Noah’ has held the top spot for boys for three years. Liam and Matteo are second and third. 

‘Alice’ is followed in the French regions by Emma and Olivia. 

The list highlights names to look out for – ‘Solea’ for girls and ‘Lior’ for boys. They climbed strongly up the list over the last two years.
