Switzerland continues to attract the world’s wealthiest, even as voters prepare to decide on the Young Socialists’ “For the Future” initiative, which proposes a 50% tax on inheritances above 50 million francs.
The 2025 ranking of Switzerland’s 300 richest, published by Bilan, shows 12 new arrivals, including Italian Pietro Gussalli Beretta, from the small arms company and French optician Alain Afflelou.
The top spot remains with Geneva’s Wertheimer family, owners of Chanel.
French-speaking cantons dominate the list, with Geneva and Vaud home to more than 130 wealthy families, including Roger Federer, who ranks 136th with an estimated net worth of up to 1.5 billion francs.
The full ranking is available in this week’s edition of ‘Bilan’.
