There are too many cats – and they’re a threat to biodiversity. That’s the opinion of a local councilor in the commune of Gland in canton Vaud.
The council has adopted a motion by Stella Motta Larrivé, which will encourage the sterilization of domestic and stray cats. The aim is to cut reproduction as well as reducing the risk of inbreeding.
It should also reduce the number of cats that have been abandoned.
The environmental organization lists cats as one of a hundred most destructive species in the world.
