Switzerland may rethink Infantino support

The Swiss Football Association is rethinking its support for FIFA president Gianni Infantino after the controversies of the recent World Cup.

The Valais native has already received a letter of support from Switzerland, but the association has told the press that internal discussions will take place in the coming weeks.

Infantino remains the sole declared candidate for the March 2027 vote in Rabat, and has already secured more than 200 of FIFA's 211 member federations.

Withdrawing support would be a powerful signal, and could strain ties with an organisation that recently changed its statutes to allow it to leave its Zurich headquarters.
