SWISS International Airlines look set to cancel hundreds more flights over the holiday season.
The airline already announced a scaling back of its operation three weeks ago, but now it will go further.
The main problem is the company fired too many workers during the pandemic. A spokeswoman confirmed the issue is lack of resources.
As a result of Covid, SWISS fired 1,700 people and cut its fleet by 15%. While some have been tempted back to work, it’s not enough to handle the strong demand.
But it’s not an isolated case – SWISS parent company, Lufthansa has also cut more than 2,000 flights.
