Two communities – one in canton Vaud and the other in Ireland – are in shock after a 62 year old man was murdered.
On Saturday, a Swiss man was stabbed to death in the Irish coastal town of Malahide. He was visiting family.
His son, who lives in Ireland, has been arrested and charged with his murder by Irish police.
The family have lived in the commune of Jorat-Mézières in Vaud since 1996, according to locals.
The victim was a popular figure and member of the local choir and ski club. He had recently retired.
