The Swiss Under 23 fencing team has caused a scandal at the European Championships in Estonia over the weekend.
They came second, being beaten by the Israeli team.
The Swiss team did congratulate the Israelis and shook their hands, but during the medal ceremony the team stayed looking ahead while the Israeli national anthem was being played, and didn't turn to the team, as is customary. This was seen as a snub to the Israelis.
The country’s foreign minister responded angrily. He said the Swiss team showed disrespectful behaviour.
The Swiss Fencing Association says sporting events are not suitable platforms for political messages and it congratulated the Israeli team for its win.
