Swiss components in Russian missiles

Many of the Russian missiles falling on Ukrainian cities have electronics on board that have been designed in Geneva.

The KH-101 devices fly low and fast and so avoid radar detection.

British analysts examining the wreckage found microprocessors made by STMicroelectronics.

The company is based in Plan-les-Ouates.

ST Microelectronics says it has a comprehensive global trade compliance program through which it complies with all international trade rules and regulations.

The company stresses that following the imposition of sanctions and export control measures against Russia and Belarus by the EU and the US since the end of February 2022, it has taken all the necessary actions to comply with those specific new requirements.

Other components from western companies in Russian weapons have also been found.
