Despite a war being fought in Europe, Swiss sales of ammunition and weaponry is down a quarter last year compared to 2022.
The latest figures from the State Secretariat for the Economy show last year this country sold almost CHF 700m worth of munition, down 27%.
The decline is at complete odds to the global growth in military spending.
It's suspected that main reason for the fall is this country’s ban on re-exporting weapons due to neutrality laws.
The report mentions that the Netherlands no longer considers this country a supplier.
The campaign group 'Switzerland Without an Army' says the amount sold is still too much and points out weapons have been delivered to countries with questionable human rights laws, such as Saudi Arabia.
