Strong demand for booster shot

Pressure is building on vaccination centers across French speaking Switzerland as the over fifties line-up for the third dose.

The waiting time in Geneva is now running at 10 days. The cantonal Department of Health says 33,000 have appointments set and a further 34,000 are waiting for a date.

Other cantons are also seeing thousands sign up for the booster. The rise in infections and the fact other countries, such as France, say the health pass will become invalid 7 months after the last dose, is driving demand.
