The heatwave is taking a break this week, with MeteoSwiss forecasting cooler and more stable air across the country and no thunderstorm risk until Friday.
Temperatures should settle back to seasonal norms of around 29 to 30 in the lowlands, with a light bise wind returning.
But a wetter, more unstable air mass is expected to arrive by the weekend, awkward timing for Paléo, which runs to Sunday.
Showers and even storms are possible, especially over the Alps, and festival-goers have been warned to expect boots and mud if the forecast holds.
