Storms cause damage and injuries

Violent storms caused damage and injuries in many French speaking cantons last night.

Several regions in Vaud, Neuchatel, Fribourg and Jura suffered heavy rain, wind and hail.

In Bulle in Fribourg, six children and a woman were taken to hospital for checks after being caught in a hail storm.

Fribourg police say they had 300 calls in a matter of minutes asking for help with flooding. Firefighters were called to stop the overflowing of a stream and fallen trees blocked roads.

Across the region, hail damaged cars, roofs and broke windows.
