Spring snow triggers road chaos

Winter is back. Heavy snow in many areas the central parts of the country have brought chaos.

Drivers on the San Bernardino Pass described conditions as treacherous. The snow also closed the Bernadino Tunnel for a few hours. 

Forecasters say the Mittelland is snow covered. MeteoSuisse is warning of heavy snow in cantons Ticino and Graubünden and icy conditions across the northern parts of the country.

But it won’t last for long. Temperatures are expected to climb over the weekend. Highlighting the current uncertainty – highs could reach 22 in German speaking regions tomorrow.
