Federal Railways have backed Transport Minister Albert Rösti's Transport'45 plan but warn that current funding is not enough to deliver its promised upgrades
The CFF is calling for clear priorities and realistic financing to ensure the roughly CHF 50 billion package can be spent by 2045.
That includes more connections around the lake and full delivery of the infrastructure measures already promised for 2035.
The plan drew criticism this month from the Federal Audit Office, which flagged outdated data and doubts about long-term affordability.
Parliament will begin considering the first CHF 11 billion tranche of investments in early 2027.
