Last weekend, the French speaking cantons of Geneva, Vaud and Fribourg got together to run the Saturday Sharing programme – and collected a record amount of food.
Campaign workers collected food donated by shoppers in supermarkets to be distributed by food banks around the region.
320 tonnes of food and hygiene products was donated – almost 20 tonnes more than was collected during the last drive in June.
The food will be sent out this week to local food banks – the next Saturday Sharing drive will be in June.
