Roofing scam resurfaces

The roofing scam seems to be back in Geneva after a 96-year-old woman was fooled.

Home owners are being told to be on alert – the scam works the same way. A couple of workmen knock at the door, tell you they can see some loose tiles and will fix them for you. 

After a few minutes of crawling on the roof – they hand over a bill. The 96-year-old lost nearly CHF 3,000.

The Geneva Federation of Building Trades says they know of the trick, but they haven’t had any reports of it for a few years – until now. They’ve already had a few reports this year.
