Referendum lauched against acquatic centre

As soon as it’s been passed by the Carouge Municipal Council, the Swiss People’s Party has launched a referendum against the proposed new aquatic centre.

The right-wing party says it’s unacceptable the commune pays the CHF 70m bill when people from all over the canton will use it – and it believes other communes should also contribute.

The Swiss People’s Party says the high cost will likely mean to a tax rise in Carouge.
