Possible new limits on unvaccinated

It’s likely there will be more restrictions put on those who have not been vaccinated in the next few weeks.

Currently the unvaccinated in Switzerland are the freest compared to all the neighbouring countries which now require vaccine passports to access many public areas.

Austria is refusing entry into the country to anyone not vaccinated. Germany is also due to end free covid testing, adding a further burden on the unvaccinated.

But Switzerland so far is taking a reasonably relaxed approach, although there are some limits on large gatherings and nightclubs.

The Federal Council is meeting today and there’s speculation it will discuss if the country is close to being able to move to the ‘normalization phase’ which was outlined in April.

This becomes possible once all adults have had the opportunity to get vaccinated and centres have a 30% vacancy rate.

If that is the case, then the government has already said it may bring in restrictions on those who have not been jabbed. That could limit access to restaurants and bars and other public areas.
