Aargau prosecutors are asking for a life sentence for a former Swiss People’s Party cantonal MP accused of drugging and raping several women and a girl over a period of years.
Patrick Frei, aged 57, has been in custody since 2023 and faces charges including multiple attempted murders, aggravated rapes, sexual acts with children and indecent assault.
The prosecution says he drugged his victims and that some were left in life-threatening states, hence the attempted-murder charges.
Investigators say he filmed the acts, and the recordings are central to the case.
