An easyJet plane arriving at Geneva from Brussels yesterday afternoon asked for an emergency landing as it suffered an engine failure.
The aircraft was approaching Geneva – its planned destination – anyway. But it was granted immediate landing permission after the pilot reported the problem.
Normal procedures meant crash tenders were alerted and raced to the runway.
The plane was carrying 39 passengers. It landed safely and no one was hurt.
