In a coordinated study across the country, several different cantonal chemical departments tested different products and found incorrect labelling or defects in 75% of them.
In all over 250 items were checked – 50 were withdrawn for sale.
Many were found to irritate the skin and eyes and can trigger an allergic reaction.
Cantonal inspectors point out many are used in hotels, shops and spas and calling for their use in public spaces to be banned.
