The new rules from tomorrow mean that open-air music festivals can go ahead – although with limited people, checking and limited international artists.

The most prestigious event, the Montreux Jazz Festival, is running, but with fewer stages and one on the lake side for the first time ever. Headlining will be the British star Rag n Bone Man and the veteran Italian singer Zucchero.

Other events going ahead – but with different formats are the Kleinstadt in Sankt Gallen, Les Georges in Fribourg, Zermatt Unplugged and Festi’Neuch in Neuchatel, which had already announced its cancellation.

The Gurten Fest in Bern will be running as ‘Summer in the City’ and the Zurich Open Air, which will also have Rag n Bone Man, is on under the name of Zoalina.

The bands playing will be mainly local or from neighbouring countries.
