New migrant health centre announced

The Lausanne-based public health centre Unisanté has been designated a World Health Organization collaborating centre for migrant health

It joins a small international network of just five such centres worldwide, alongside partners in Italy, Sweden, Ireland and Chile.

Unisanté will support the WHO scientifically and technically on improving migrant access to care, focusing on health equity, clinical skills and policy evaluation.

Professor Mauricio Avendano, co-leader of the new centre, said the recognition acknowledges years of experience with vulnerable populations.
