Mysterious meeting with Israel

The head of Swiss military procurement has made a secretive trip to Israel, and the Defence Department will not say who he met.

Urs Loher, the chief of armaments, travelled to Israel this month for talks with the Israeli defence ministry and industry, Le Temps reports.

Unlike the department's other July trips abroad, which named their foreign counterparts openly, this one has been kept deliberately vague.

An Armasuisse spokesperson told the paper no further details will be released, citing the security and privacy of those involved.

The unusual reticence is drawing questions about who exactly the arms chief is dealing with, and why.
