Yet more violent storms swept across the country last night, causing flooding and closing roads.
The worst hit cantons were Lucerne, Zug, Schwyz and Appenzell.
Witnesses say the storms were brief but intense. SRF meteo reports there were about 8,000 lightning strikes yesterday evening.
Basements and underground car parks were underwater and fire teams had to pump them out.
Storms have caused major problems over the past few days. In canton Bern a farmhouse burned to the ground after being struck by lightning and in Sankt Gallen a barn caught fire for the same reason.
