Mental health needs to be taken seriously

The impact on mental health needs to be taken into account in the event of another pandemic.

A report compiled for the government says the measures taken to ostensibly protect the elderly in nursing homes, negatively impacted the mental health of residents and staff.

Young people also suffered during lockdowns, especially those living alone and in a precarious financial position. 

The report says psychosocial aspects must be taken into account in the case of a future crises. 

Parliament is putting forward several suggestions to the Federal Council on how to learn from the covid 19 pandemic.
