Parents in Winterthur's Heiligberg district are on alert after a man was spotted stealing used baby diapers from a residential bin.
According to reports, the man was seen opening a garbage bag and taking a bag of diapers before cycling away.
Local residents have since posted warnings around the neighborhood and urged others to report suspicious activity.
The motive remains unclear, though experts say diaper-related fetishes exist and are more common than assumed.
Psychiatrist Thomas Knecht told the 20 minutes newspaper, such behavior doesn’t automatically signal danger to children, but it can raise red flags.
Police have not yet confirmed an investigation.
