Man has apartment stolen

A Geneva man has had his apartment stolen from him after he travelled to Turkey for back surgery.

He was only gone for two weeks, but had asked a friend to feed his pet lizard while he was away.

Instead, the friend rented out his home to a family.

All his belongings have vanished. The police said they don’t have the power to evict the family, who rented the apartment in good faith.

The matter is now set to go to court, but that could take three months. In the meantime, the man is homeless.

The now former friend who rented out the flat has disappeared.
