A major fire in Vernier yesterday produced so much smoke some planes approaching Geneva Airport were delayed.
The blaze broke out on an industrial estate close to the end of the runway at about 1pm.
A fire service spokesman described it as destructive and said the focus was on stopping it from spreading.
It took 50 firefighters and 15 vehicles to bring it under control 2 hours later.
Teams remain on site to make sure there’s no further outbreaks.
