A serious crash on the A3 in the canton of Zurich has left several people injured after a truck slammed into the back of a traffic jam near Urdorf.
Police say a 33-year-old driver hit a line of stationary vehicles for reasons still unknown, triggering a chain collision involving several cars.
Two adults in the rearmost vehicle were seriously injured and had to be cut free, while their one-and-a-half-year-old child suffered minor injuries.
A rescue helicopter was deployed, and multiple people were taken to hospital. The autoroute towards Basel was closed for hours, causing major traffic disruption. Investigations are ongoing.
