Local ski resorts celebrate season start

Local ski resorts are celebrating the start of the season. Snow and cold nights have led to an ideal start.

Many of the resorts near Geneva opened earlier this season – resort directors say it’s been the best start for the last 15 years.

The neighbouring French resort of Les Gets says they’re seeing 75,000 skiers a week – in Les Carroz, the hotel occupation rate is at 95%.

The Monts Jura slopes in the Pays de Gex says the start of the season has been ‘exceptional’ and managed to open the runs a week earlier.
