A bolt of lightning struck a tree during yesterday’s storm in Geneva.
The large fir tree on Avenue du Bouchet in Petit-Saconnex was blown apart – scattering branches across the road. One hit a nearby bus stop and broke the glass.
A local resident told the Tribune de Genève that she could smell smoke and soot entered her home.
The tree will have to be felled.
There were also floods across the city – but the city’s fire department says they were small and under control.
