The Liberal party in Geneva is fighting plans to switch off street lighting during the night.
It says it’s too dangerous for pedestrians and other road users.
It’s put forward a motion in the cantonal Grand Council to end the not yet fully implemented idea.
The plan is called Operation OptimaLux, and is designed to save energy, help local wildlife and locals to get a good night’s sleep.
The idea is to switch off street lights between midnight and 5am.
