Lausanne is opening one of Europe's most significant Roman digs to the public this weekend.
Archaeologists at the Prés-de-Vidy site, just south of the city, have uncovered roughly 1,000 Roman tombs and an entire ancient quarter of Lousonna - as it was known by the Romans.
A team of 25 archaeologists has been working the site since 2024, ahead of a planned new eco-district.
Free guided visits, children's workshops and pottery-throwing demonstrations run on Friday and Saturday.
