Switzerland will hold its first-ever nationwide crisis exercise at the end of this week, testing how federal, cantonal, and local authorities respond to a hybrid threat.
It will test how to respond to a combination of cyber-attacks, disinformation campaigns and political and economic pressures.
The large-scale drill involves the federal government, all 26 cantons, Parliament, the Principality of Liechtenstein, and several major cities.
According to the Federal Chancellery, the scenario will remain confidential until the start of the exercise, which will have no impact on the public.
Officials say the test aims to strengthen crisis management systems refined since the pandemic.
Voters have rejected the ‘No to 10 Million’ initiative. But commentators say the strength of the yes vote is still a cause of concern for the government.
Thousands of people across the country have taken part in feminist strike events calling for equal pay, an end to gender-based violence and greater rights for women.
