The Japanese technology giant Hitachi is considering expanding its production capacity in Switzerland, creating 3,000 jobs.
The new plant could be in Wettingen in canton Aargau among other potential sites.
Local authorities say talks with the company are progressing constructively.
Hitachi – which is based in Tokyo - already operates eleven sites in Switzerland. Seven years ago, it bought the power grid division from the Swiss/Swedish conglomerate ABB.
Construction could begin from mid 2027.
