The Socialist Party in the City of Geneva is putting forward a plan to pedestrianize the Place de Neuve.
The party say the current use as basically a traffic roundabout limits the area and says there could be more space for people to relax in and it allow the creation of some more local cafes.
It says the impact on traffic would be limited.
The inspiration is from the Place Castellane in Marseille in France, which is widely regarded as a success.
