Heat hitting crops already

Farmers are bracing for the heatwave peak, probably tomorrow.

Crops are wilting in the afternoons and water reserves dwindling fast. There are already worries about the harvest.

Fribourg and Vaud have banned pumping from several rivers.

The federal hydrology office warns that if conditions worsen, drinking water will take priority over industry and farming — leaving growers last in the queue.
