There are calls to shorten the expiry date on the Swiss Covid certificate. Currently the pass is valid for a year after the second dose.
But due to the new 2G plus rules, which require those who received a dose more than 4 months ago to also show a negative test – some politicians say the pass should expire earlier and can only be extended by a third dose.
France has already changed. A French pass expires after 7 months after the second dose.
One of the supporters of the move, Socialist Party National Councilor Mustafa Atici, says the evidence shows the third dose offers the best protection against Omicron and the booster jab should be the new standard.
