The battle between health insurers and private clinics around the Lake Geneva region is hotting up.
Several insurers have now set limits on how much they’ll reimburse fees charged by clinics, such as Les Grangettes, La Colline and the Hôpital de la Tour.
The latest insurer, KPT, is digging in and refusing the pay the high fees charged by the clinics. It says it’s making progress elsewhere in the country, but has particular issues with those in the Geneva region.
The battle on fees is being fought on two fronts – one on the clinics and the other on the fees doctors charge.
The dispute is raising the pressure on the Geneva University Hospital – as more patients will be referred there.
